less is MORE!

Pastors — Jeff on September 21, 2007 at 4:30 pm

There is nothing greater  than to know that I can be less and he can be more.

The thought that Christ’s power is made perfect in our weakness  is something that’s very freeing. I would say that most pastors struggle with this.  Its why we pretend were a little better than we are, a little smarter than we are, a little wiser than we are…  I think when we get to the place that we are truly living for an audience of one, we will live a lot more authentic.

I know the feeling of leading scared. This comes when I am living in my strength and not his. My prayer is that I’ll really get this and live it!!!

Pump it up

Exercise — Jeff on September 18, 2007 at 2:02 pm

I am positive that getting some excercise is a great way to live “Stress Less”.  I can’t tell you how good i feel when i get exercise before the day starts.  My best days are when I get up spend some time with Jesus and exercise!!  Today Christy (my awesome wife) and I ran 3 miles and biked 10 and it was great.  Having a goal of doing a triathlon helps!

Thoughts from the Weekend

Random Thoughts — Jeff on September 18, 2007 at 1:14 pm

–I am excited today about this last weekend. Mountain Lake Church was awesome. We had Shelley Lubben as a guest speaker who shared her life story. It blew my mind where she has come from. I walked away amazed at God’s sovereignty and his grace. Although her story is very different than mine, I still found myself looking at my life in paralell to how God has shown us his grace also. I am grateful for the lessons and pruning in my life.

–Sunday after church I got to spend time with my family, The Mccowns (my sisters family) and Chris Socci a friend who used to be in my youth ministry. We spent the afternoon on the boat tubing and wakeboarding.  Made some great memories.

—Christy who is my beautiful wife was an inspiration for me today. Her faith as it concerns trusting God is awesome!! I am very lucky to have her in my life.
