Thanks for your Prayers

Church Partners (Pray), Prayer — Jeff on February 25, 2008 at 10:52 pm

My father n law came through his surgery today with flying colors. The doctors said that everything went very well… He had 5 by-passes and is now resting and recovering. Christy is going to stay at the hospital tonight and will be driving home tomorrow morning.

I will be heading to Baton Rouge to meet with a pastor of a church and share my vision on Wednesday.  Please pray that God moves his heart to see the impact that we can have on Columbus.

Meeting in Boone, NC.

Uncategorized — Jeff on February 25, 2008 at 10:45 pm

I recently had the opportunity to meet up with a great mentor and friend of mine, Kirk Nowery.  Kirk is an incredible leader and now COO of Samaritans Purse, a ministry that helps hurting people all over the world.  I went there to spend time getting his wisdom, advice and some contacts of potential ministry partners.

The Highlights of the trip were:

  • North Carolina BBQ
  • Seeing the Mountains
  • Getting my hands dirty cutting and removing trees and limbs that had fallen due to an ice storm at Kirk’s cabin on the mountain.
  • Getting the grand tour of SP (and seeing hundreds of pictures of people being cared for).
  • Going to see a movie with Kirk and Franklin Graham
  • Gleening from Kirk’s wisdom and passion for people
  • Hearing from God
  • Suprising Christy and my kids coming home 1 day early.

I was at the churchplanters.com conference today. It was great. I got to see a lot of guys that are really hitting home runs for kingdom sake. Today’s main speakers were Shawn Lovejoy and Stephen Furtick.  They both knocked it completely out of the park.

With all that I heard today and God speaking to me through the sessions. I am bursting with excitement. I can’t wait to get to Columbus and change the world.

Coaching Network

Church Planting — Jeff on February 15, 2008 at 2:59 pm

If you are preparing to plant a church or are in a start up now,  you need to be in a coaching network.   Listening to a speaker at a conference is great– you’ll walk away motivated and ready to change.  Problem is how?  Coaching is the next– needed step in putting feet to thought.  It’s dialoguing with 12 guys through the important things that we all could use feedback and instruction on.

I can’t say enough about the churchplanters.com coaching network.  Shawn and David who regularly lead our group have really been hitting home runs!!  I am looking forward to next month when we meet again.
